Kentucky senior linebacker Josh Allen announced on Friday that he will play in the Citrus Bowl vs. Penn State on New Years Day.
Following the regular season finale vs. Louisville, Allen was asked about possibly sitting out the Bowl game with his NFL Draft hopes secure.
Allen has been racking up awards the last couple of weeks, winning both the Bednarik and Nagurski Awards. Additionally, Allen was named a first team All-American and SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the AP and League coaches.
Allen made the made announcement on Twitter by saying, “I am deeply humbled by the nominations and awards I have received this week. I want to thank my coaches, my teammates, and the BBN. I am honored to say we have unfinished business and my teammates and I plan to bring the Citrus Bowl trophy back to Lexington. BBN see you in Orlando.”
