Kentucky’s Josh Allen has been named the Herald Leader’s Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year at the Bluegrass Sports awards.
Allen was one of ten finalists eligible for the award after 176 media members around the state of Kentucky voted. I was honored to cast my ballot for the first time and although I had Allen at No. 2 (behind Mark Stoops), he is more than deserving.
I struggled with Stoops and Allen, but elected to go with the UK head coach as my winner. However, Josh Allen deserves the honor after posting the most dominant defensive season in Kentucky football history.
