It’s hard to believe a full decade has passed since John Wall played his lone season at the University of Kentucky in 2009-10.
In 2010, SLAM’s #137 issue, ‘The Hit Maker,’ featured Wall and teammates Eric Bledsoe, Patrick Patterson, DeMarcus Cousins, and coach John Calipari.
In a recent interview with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson of Showtime Sports, Wall discussed the SLAM Magazine cover and why his teammates were on the cover with him.
The magazine was supposed to feature Wall and Coach Cal on the cover, but Wall said he was tired of being on the cover alone. He wanted to do something different.
At the end of the season, Kentucky had five players selected in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft (Wall, Bledsoe, Patterson, Cousins, and Daniel Orton).
