GAINESVILLE, Fla- The Kentucky Wildcats finally had their moment vs. the Florida Gators, a 27-16 win under the lights in Gainesville on Saturday.
After last seasons heartbreaking 28-27 loss at Kroger Field, it was hard to believe this streak would ever end. The win is special enough, but Mark Stoops awarding offensive line coach John Schlarman the game ball makes it even more special. Schlarman is currently battling cancer and has continued to coach through the treatments.
“I awarded John Schlarman the game ball for the way our offensive line and tight ends blocked,” said Mark Stoops. “We rushed for over 300 yards at Florida, that’s pretty big. John is going through a lot and it was great to award him with the team ball.”
