John Calipari Watched James Wiseman Wednesday Night

Kentucky target James Wiseman’s nickname is the “Big Ticket” and Wildcat fans sure hope they’re purchasing tickets to see him play at Rupp Arena in the future. That could possibly happen sooner, rather than later.

The Wildcats had business to handle in Arkansas on Tuesday night but John Calipari added a couple of stops for Wednesday. According to Chuck Lawson, Calipari’s first stop was in Mississippi to see 2019 recruit D.J. Jeffries.

Jeffries is ranked the No. 26 overall player in the 2019 class by 247 Sports, currently holding 18 offers from the likes of Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, Wichita State, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State just to name a few.

Meanwhile, Wiseman is ranked the No. 1 overall player in the 2019 class by 247 Sports and there is speculation that he could graduate early, even though he has shot down a possible reclassification to the 2018 class. If he does, he wouldn’t be the No. 1 overall player but would still likely be a top-five recruit.

Kentucky is considered the heavy favorite to land Wiseman, whether that be in 2018 or 2019. After checking in on Jeffries, Calipari made his way to see the “Big Ticket” in action, according to Pat Lawless. Wiseman scored 18 points in front of Calipari while leading his team to a District 16-AAA Championship.

With the Wildcats expected to return the majority of production from this years club, Wiseman could be the final piece to what could be a super team in Lexington next season. Only time will tell but I would be shocked if he doesn’t reclassify to 2018 the day he announces he is attending Kentucky.

You can check out highlights of Wiseman’s night below, along with a highlight video of Jeffries.
