John Calipari has made it known how badly he wants five-star guard Cade Cunningham, the No. 2 player in the 247 Sports Composite rankings for the 2020 class.
Calipari has made multiple visits to Cunningham and the UK coach is in Florida tonight to visit him at his high school. Patrick Loney of Big Blue Banter was the first to report the visit.
Jack Pilgrim of KSR reported that the visit was initiated by Cunningham, instead of Calipari. You have to think Cunningham wouldn’t just call and ask Calipari to make the trip to Florida for no reason. This seems like good news for Kentucky.
Cunningham took an official visit to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness two weeks ago. Following that visit, Evan Daniels and Jerry Meyer, two of the top recruiting analysts, logged crystal ball picks to Kentucky for Cunningham.
John Calipari already has four commitments for the 2020 class in five-star guards BJ Boston and Terrence Clark, in addition to four stars Lance Ware and Cam’Ron Fletcher. Kentucky also picked up a commitment from Devin Askew last week, the No. 1 point guard in the 2021 class. Askew is expected to reclassify to 2020 after his high school season.
