Calipari Thanked Bucknell Coaches for the Job they did with Nate Sestina

John Calipari met with the media Thursday afternoon to discuss Kentucky’s win vs. Michigan State and to preview the Wildcats matchup with Eastern Kentucky on Friday.

Kentucky’s Nate Sestina was a big topic during the press conference, as Calipari praised what the Bucknell transfer brought to the team during the win vs. the Spartans.

Sestina played 31 minutes in the win, finishing with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a block. Sestina’s numbers won’t earn national recognition but Calipari has praised the 6-foot-9 senior for his willingness to lead and talk.

“I called the coaches at Bucknell and thanked them and said you did a great job with this kid,” Calipari said.

The UK coach said the Bucknell team was on a bus while Kentucky was playing Tuesday night and he was told they were watching the game going crazy.

“They said after their game with Fairfield they were on the bus watching our game and when he made that three the bus had to pull over because they were going absolutely bonkers on the bus.”

Sestina and the Wildcats return to action Friday night at Rupp Arena vs. Eastern Kentucky.
