John Calipari will reach another career milestone Tuesday night when Kentucky takes on Vanderbilt.

The matchup between the Wildcats and Commodores will be the 400th career game for Calipari at Kentucky. Only Adolph Rupp coached more games as UK’s head coach.

Rupp, known as the Baron of the Bluegrass, coached 1,066 games in his 41 seasons at Kentucky. Calipari just recently passed Joe B. Hall, who led the Wildcats for 397 games.

In his first 400 games at Kentucky, Rupp won 331 times. A victory over Vanderbilt in Nashville would give Calipari 324 wins in his first 400, keeping pace with one of the winningest coaches in basketball history.

Rupp finished his Kentucky career with 876 victories and an .822 winning percentage. Calipari currently owns an .810 winning percentage as leader of the Cats.

As he reaches game number 400, Calipari has recorded more wins (323), NCAA tournament wins (31), Final Four appearances (4), Elite Eight’s (7), and Sweet Sixteen’s (8) than any coach in college basketball during that span.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt will tip-off at 7 p.m. ET. on ESPN. Karl Ravech, Jimmy Dykes and Marty Smith will be on the call.
