John Calipari was at the USA U18 Camp on Saturday

Kentucky coach John Calipari is in Colorado Springs this weekend to check in on several UK targets.

Saturday was the third day of the USA Basketball U18 training camp and the first day that college coaches could be in attendance. Calipari made sure to check in and he can do the same on Sunday.

Among the players competing, Kentucky already has one commitment from five-star combo guard Tyrese Maxey. The 6-foot-3 guard chose Kentucky over Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, and Oklahoma in May. Maxey has been one of the most impressive players of the camp.

In addition to Maxey, Calipari was also in attendance to watch targets Bryan Antione, Keion Brooks, Matthew Hurt, Jalen Lecque, and Scottie Lewis. All five players hold an offer from Kentucky.

Kira Lewis Jr. is also a player Calipari is closely watching. The Hazel Green, AL., native recently picked up his fifth star in the 247Sports rankings and he has a visit scheduled to Kentucky later this month. However, if he makes the USA roster, that visit will have to be rescheduled for a later date.

Also, according to Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader, Kentucky is watching Cole Anthony, the No. 1 ranked point guard in the 2019 class. Anthony is the son of former NBA player and current CBS Sports analyst Greg Anthony.

Joining Calipari in attendance Saturday was Indiana’s Archie Miller, Michigan State’s Tom Izzo, Michigan’s John Beilein, Alabama’s Avery Johnson, Ohio State’s Chris Holtmann, and Texas A&M’s Billy Kennedy.
