Cal on NBA Decisions: “We’re going to be Kentucky. We’re fine”

John Calipari address the Big Blue Nation via Facebook live Monday night.

The UK coach announced he is starting the weekly Facebook live show “Coffee with Cal” to help raise funds for COVID-19 relief. The show will air at 10 a.m. ET. for the next 20 Mondays, beginning next Monday.

While Calipari was discussing the show, he also mentioned his current players declaring for the NBA Draft. Ashton Hagans and Tyrese Maxey have already declared while Nick Richards and Immanuel Quickley are expected to do the same this week. EJ Montgomery could also decide to enter his name and declare.

Calipari said someone asked what Kentucky would do if they happened to lose all five starters to the NBA?

“We’re going to be Kentucky. We’re fine,” Calipari said.

At this point, it looks like Kentucky could lose seven of their eight rotation players from the 2019-20 season if Montgomery does decide to declare along with Richards and Quickley. That would leave Keion Brooks Jr. and Dontaie Allen to join six signees from the No. 1 recruiting class in 2020.

Calipari always has a plan and I’m sure at least two more players will be added to the roster.
