Following Kahlil Whitney’s Commitment, John Calipari Explains Why Players Choose Kentucky
Kentucky head coach John Calipari has to feel good with the warm sun hitting his skin in the Bahamas this week, but that’s not the only reason.
In addition to his 2018-19 Wildcats taking the floor tonight vs. the Bahamas National team, Calipari just landed 2019 five-star forward Kahlil Whitney. According to the 24/7 Sports Composite, Whitney is ranked the No. 19 overall prospect in the country and the No. 5 small forward.

A native of Chicago, Il., Whitney chose Kentucky over Georgetown, Illinois, and Oregon. He plays his high school basketball for Roselle Catholic in Roselle, NJ., the same high school that produced former Wildcat Isaiah Briscoe.
Whitney made his announcement via the following video that was posted to Twitter and just moments after that, Calipari created a thread on Twitter about why players choose to play at Kentucky.
