Former Kentucky Wildcat star Joe Crawford will represent the University of Kentucky as a member of the 2018 SEC Legends at the SEC Tournament in St. Louis next month. UK made the announcement on Wednesday morning.

Annually, the Southeastern Conference recognizes one past player from each SEC team during the SEC Tournament. The former UK guard will be honored during halftime of UK’s first game of the tournament.

Crawford played for the Wildcats from 2005-2008, finishing his career as one of the top scorers in program history. He currently ranks 20th in all-time points scored with 1,438 points. He was an All-SEC Second Team selection in 2008 by the league’s coaches, posting his best statistical season as a senior, where he averaged 17.9 points per game. Crawford was a consistent outside threat during his UK career, making 40 or more three-pointers in his final three seasons, including a career-high 63 during his junior and senior seasons.

After his college career, Crawford was selected 58th overall by the Los Angelas Lakers and played professional basketball until 2015. This is the 20th year that SEC Legends will be recognized during the SEC Tournament.

Crawford will join me on the Go Big Blue Country Podcast next week to talk about being honored as an SEC Legend, as well as reflect on his UK career.
