Four-Star Linebacker Jared Casey Commits to Kentucky

Louisville Ballard linebacker Jared Casey announced his verbal commitment to Kentucky via his Twitter account Thursday afternoon.

The four-star recently de-committed from Oregon after choosing them over Kentucky and Louisville on October 11th.  The news of Casey’s commitment comes on the heels of the Wildcats losing a commitment from Wandale Robinson, who flipped to Nebraska on Wednesday. However, this was the good news Kentucky needed.

Despite losing Robinson, Kentucky still has a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail. Last Friday, the Wildcats landed four-star defensive end JJ Weaver. Casey was in attendance for Weaver’s announcement.

Leading the charge in Casey’s recruitment was tight ends coach Vince Marrow, who took over in-state recruiting earlier this year.

Casey is a significant piece moving forward for Kentucky on the defensive side of the ball and is the good news Mark Stoops needed this week.
