The nations No. 1 player, James Wiseman, has been tearing up the Nike EYBL scene all weekend.
The entire UK coaching staff was in to watch him on Friday night, and John Calipari returned for everyone of his games on Saturday. Also in attendance to watch him play is new Memphis head coach and Wiseman’s former high school coach, Penny Hardaway.
Kentucky and Memphis are the frontrunners to land the five-star big man, but in a question and answer with 247Sports Evan Daniels, Wiseman was asked if other schools have a shot at landing him.
“Yeah, Bill Self and Kansas, North Carolina, Vanderbilt and just many more schools,” said Wiseman.
Wiseman told Daniels that all of those schools are wanting to schedule in-home visits with him for the next recruiting period. As for Calipari, his message to Wiseman has been simple and to the point.
“Basically, if I come to his program he will help me reach my full potential and help me become the player that I want to become.”
