Memphis East High School star James Wiseman is at the top of John Calipari’s 2019 wish list.
The UK head coach has been making his rounds during the spring recruiting period and he will stop in to see the the five-star center on Monday. Wiseman’s mother spoke with Kyle Tucker of SEC Country on Friday and Kentucky is at the top of the list for her son, but Calipari will have to hold off the Memphis Tigers if he wants to win this recruitment.
Wiseman’s former AAU coach, Penny Hardaway, is the new head coach of the Tigers. There were talks that Wiseman could leave the Memphis area and attend Findlay Prep this fall, but his mother told Tucker that he will stay at Memphis East and not reclassify.
For most of his recruitment, Kentucky has been the front runner to land Wiseman. The 6-foot-11, 210lb big man appears to be excited about Calipari stopping by tomorrow. He went to Twitter to confirm that the in-home visit with Kentucky is on for Monday.
