When Kentucky fans are asked to name an all-time Kentucky team, the name Jamal Mashburn is always chosen for that list. Mashburn, who was known as Monster Mash during his time at Kentucky, was Rick Pitino’s first high profile recruit that he convinced to play for him in Lexington.

Now, his son, Jamal Mashburn Jr., is making a name for himself in high school basketball and he’s really, really good. The son of the UK great is a point and combo guard for Gulliver Prep in Miami, Florida. At 6-0, 160lbs, 247 Sports rates Mashburn Jr. a four-star recruit in the 2020 class.

Just a sophomore in high school, there is still a while before he makes his decision and if he puts on performances like his most recent one, his list of teams will increase. He listed Louisville as his favorite in early September but that was before Rick Pitino was fired as the head coach of the Cardinals. In addition to Louisville, he holds offers from Florida and Miami.

Check out his game in the video below. Let’s see if John Calipari gets involved in the future.
