Is it Time for Kentucky to Offer Dontaie Allen?

Dontaie Allen continues to impress but this time it’s in front of big name coaches.

The Pendleton County star is competing in an AAU event in Georgia and he’s putting on a show for coaches and fan.

His head coach, Keaton Belcher, told me he missed time in June due to a hip injury, and that he would sit out June workouts to heal up for the July evaluation period. He’s healthy and he’s performing at a high level.

Mark Story tweeted on Wednesday that Allen posted 19 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in front of Coach K, Tom Izzo, Bob Huggins, and Chris Mack. UK assistant Tony Barbee was also in attendance.

Allen currently doesn’t have an offer from Kentucky but he visited campus earlier this summer. He holds offers from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Western Kentucky, and Xavier, among others.

Corey Evan’s of Rivals also praised Allen’s offensive ability.

I met with Allen in June, two days after he visited Kentucky. The staff told him he wasn’t  on campus because his address ends in KY, but that he was there because of his talent.

I trust Calipari and his decisions but I believe this is one that should pick up an offer.
