Four-Star Guard Tyler Herro Commits to Kentucky

With five-star guards Immanuel Quickley and Keldon Johnson already in the fold for Kentucky’s 2018 class, John Calipari pretty much has his backcourt locked in for 2018-2019. That backcourt just got stronger for next season and possibly long-term, as four-star guard Tyler Herro announced his pledge to Kentucky.

Herro, a one time Wisconsin commit, recently backed out of his commitment to the Badgers, which resulted in the Wildcats getting involved. The 6-5, 195lb guard is rated a top-40 player nationally and is considered to be one of the best shooters/scorers in the 2018 class.

He participated in the Nike EYBL, averaging over 14 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 35% from three-point range.

Herro backed out of his commitment to the Badgers on October 17th, resulting in Butler, Kansas, Oregon, and Villanova showing interest. However, Calipari and assistant coach Kenny Payne offered on October 31st.

He just recently visited Lexington this past weekend for the Wildcats matchups with Utah Valley and Vermont. All signs pointed to Kentucky, especially when a date to announce was set fresh off his visit.

The addition of Herro, along with commitments from Quickley and Jonhson, moves Kentucky to the No. 2 class in the country, trailing only Duke. The Wildcats are a long way from finished and dominoes will continue to fall for 2018.
