Former Wildcat Zach Logue continues to impress

Former Wildcat LHP Zach Logue continued his strong start to his minor league career on Friday night. The Mason, Ohio native is yet to give up a run through four appearances this summer and was just recently promoted to the Vancouver Canadians, which is the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Logue was the Saturday starter for the Kentucky Wildcats this season before hearing his name called during the 9th round of this summers MLB Draft.

The left-hander made his first appearance with Vancouver during last night’s matchup with Spokane. Logue got the start for the Canadians and pitched two scoreless innings, while striking out five batters. He only gave up one hit and walked one batter, which is the first walk he has given up through seven innings this summer. Logue picked up the first win of his minor league career back on July 1st after pitching two scoreless innings.

The former Wildcat was known as a strikeout pitcher during his time at Kentucky and that has followed him to his professional career. Through seven innings this summer, Logue has struck out ten, while only giving up three hits and walking one. Opponents are hitting .125 vs. Logue through the first four appearances of his career.

Logue’s next appearance will be sometime mid week vs. Hillsboro or Salem-Keizer. You can follow Logue through the minor leagues by clicking here.
