Flashback: Jodie Meeks Pours in a School Record 54 Points vs. Tennessee

On January 13, 2009, Jodie Meeks put on the single-game performance in the history of Kentucky basketball. Meeks and the Wildcats stormed into Knoxville and knocked off the Tennessee Volunteers behind a school record 54 points from Meeks.

The previous school record was 53 points by Dan Issel at Mississippi, 39 years prior to Meeks explosion in Knoxville. Meeks entered the game fourth in the nation in scoring at 24.2 points.

Even more impressive was it only took him 22 shots, hitting 15 of them. Additionally, Meeks knocked down a school record 10 three-pointers and shot a perfect 14-of-14 from the free throw line.

With the Wildcats set to play the 15th ranked Vols at Rupp Arena tomorrow night, take a trip down memory lane and relive every made basket in the video below.

It’s hard to believe it has been nine years.
