The Final Arkansas Drive Ended at the Kentucky 22-yard Line

The Kentucky Wildcats picked up a much needed win vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday night at Kroger Field, rallying from a 13-point first half deficit to win 24-20.

The star of the night was Lynn Bowden Jr., who rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winning score from 24-yards out with 6:53 remaining in the game.

On a night when Bowden started his first collegiate game at quarterback, Kentucky honored one of the greatest quarterbacks and players to ever wear the blue and white.

Saturday was Jared Lorenzen Day and the number 22, his number at Kentucky, showed up everywhere. Not only on commemorative rally towels around the stadium but also when the defense needed a stop to win the game.

With Kentucky leading 24-20, Arkansas had the ball at the Kentucky 22-yard line. Ironically enough, two incompletions later the Razorbacks attempt to take the  lead ended at the 22-yard line. Chills when you think of that.

It’s only fitting that the number 22 show up in the stat sheet when the Wildcats needed it most.
