After a three-game losing streak and not winning a game since losing Terry Wilson to a season ending injury, the Kentucky Wildcats needed their best player to step up. He did.
Lynn Bowden returned to his high school days of playing quarterback and led the Wildcats to a much needed 24-20 win vs. Arkansas.
Bowden completed 7-of-11 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown but his biggest impact was with his legs. The UK junior carried the ball 24 times for 196 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winning 24-yard touchdown run with 6:53 to play in the 4th quarter.
“We felt like we were going to have to start him for a week or two,” said Mark Stoops. “But Sawyer was getting better, he did practice this week. And so it was getting close but we invested a lot of time in that game plan with Lynn.”
With the win, Kentucky climbs back to .500 on the season at 3-3, a win the Wildcats desperately needed to get back on track.
