Everything Lynn Bowden Said Following Win vs. Arkansas

Going into the 2019 college football season, everyone knew Lynn Bowden would be Kentucky’s star. He showed why in a 24-20 win vs. Arkansas on Saturday night at Kroger Field.

With the Wildcats needing an answer at quarterback with Terry Wilson out for the season and Sawyer Smith healing from multiple injuries, Bowden stepped in to lead the Kentucky offense.

In his first collegiate start at quarterback, he completed 7-of-11 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown. His biggest impact was on the ground, where he rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

Entering Saturday’s game, Bowden had one touchdown on the season, a late score vs. Eastern Michigan when the game was already decided. He cemented his legacy at Kentucky with a three touchdown performance in a must win.

After battling back from a 13-0 deficit to take the lead, Kentucky had to come from behind again after Arkansas scored to take the lead with less than 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. That’s when Bowden scrambled his way to a 24-yard game winning score with 6:53 remaining in the game.

Bowden spoke to the media at the podium following the win and had plenty to say about his performance, his teammates and Jared Lorenzen.
