In-State Star Dontaie Allen will Unofficially Visit Kentucky on June 10th

Dontaie Allen Schedules Visit to Kentucky for June 10th

Pendleton County star Dontaie Allen will unofficially visit Kentucky on June 10th, his high school coach Keaton Belcher tells Go Big Blue Country.

The 6-foot-7 forward has watched his recruitment blow up this spring as his list of offers continues to grow. Just this week alone, Allen has picked up offers from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, and Dayton. Additionally, he holds offers from Nevada, Xavier, Western Kentucky, and Eastern Kentucky, among others.

Allen is ranked the 214th overall player and No. 52 forward in the 2019 class by 247Sports. He ranks fourth among players from the state of Kentucky.

Kentucky is yet to extend an offer to Allen, but the interest is there leading up to his senior season. UK assistant coach Joel Justus traveled to Falmouth in April to visit Allen, the only in-state prospect to receive a visit from Kentucky during the spring recruiting period.

Pendleton County coach Keaton Belcher told Go Big Blue Country in April that Kentucky would be a dream offer for Allen.

The Wildcats haven’t landed an in-state player since Derek Willis and Dominique Hawkins signed with Kentucky in 2013. Kentucky has shown interest in University Heights guard KyKy Tandy, but most think Allen may be the player that receives a UK offer.

“Coach Justus really likes his size and skill set,” said Belcher in April. “He loved his shooting form and his soft release. UK is looking for somebody to make perimeter shots and Dontaie is a guy that can make shots.”

Allen has made plenty of shots in his high school career on his way to a total of 2,697 points, including two 50-point games. He once scored 48 points in a game for Pendleton County, outscoring the opponent by four points. This season, he shot 59.1 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from three-point range. Additionally, he has hauled in a total of 1,044 career rebounds. In all, the Pendleton County standout has recorded 56 career doubles through 105 high school games.

This is a recruitment to watch as we go through the summer and into the fall.
