Report: A Kentucky Offer could Come Soon for Dontaie Allen

Dontaie Allen could Earn a Kentucky Offer Soon

Dontaie Allen, a shooting guard from Pendleton County, has picked up an offer from Florida.

Allen, a member of the 2019 class, continues to add offers from major programs. In addition to Florida, Allen holds offers from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Western Kentucky, and Xavier, among others.

The 6-foot-6 wing visited Kentucky unofficially in June and the coaching staff told him that they like to evaluate players before extending an offer. Well, they’re getting plenty of looks at him during the Under Armour tournament in Cartersville, Georgia.

After posting 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in front of Tony Barbee on Wednesday, he followed with a 33-point performance Thursday morning. According to T.J. Walker of KSR, an offer from Kentucky could follow soon.

Kentucky fans had their sights set on Hopkinsville guard KyKy Tandy earlier this spring, but John Calipari stopped recruiting him after his father made controversial comments about playing with other guards at Kentucky. In the end, Allen is the better fit and his outside shot would be a great addition to Kentucky’s 2019 recruiting class.

I asked Allen last month about the possibility of picking up a Kentucky offer and he told me he’s always been a Kentucky fan. He also added that an offer from Kentucky would give in state kids hope.
