Former Kentucky quarterback Stephen Johnson will always be remembered for his courage and heart that he showed during his two seasons in Lexington.
Johnson battled through multiple injuries to will the Wildcats to victories. At times, he would take a hit that should’ve kept him on the sidelines but then you would see number fifteen running back onto the field.
The former JUCO product’s most memorable moments will be the season ending win vs. Louisville in 2016 and the win vs. Tennessee last season. Most notably, Johnson suffered a shoulder injury vs. the Volunteers that forced him to go to the locker room. He sat out a drive but stormed through the tunnel to lead the Cats to victory over Tennessee, scoring the game winning touchdown in the final minute of play.
Johnson meant a lot to the fans, Lexington, the University of Kentucky, his coaches, and his teammates. Check out the video below as Mark Stoops, Darin Hinshaw, Naquez Pringle, and Jim Madaleno all speak about what Johnson means to them.
