Benny Snell Jr. Cleared of Marijuana Charge

Former Kentucky running back Benny Snell Jr. received a marijuana citation on August 30th after being pulled over for speeding in Ohio.

According to the Tribune-Review, the drug charge against Snell was withdrawn this week, which is common in Ohio in cases involving small amounts of marijuana. However, he could still be disciplined by the NFL.

The Pittsburgh Steelers rookie admitted to smoking about 20 minutes before he was pulled over for speeding. According to the report, Deputy Nathan Stuckey found 2.74 grams of marijuana in a plastic Star Wars baggie that was in a bag on the passengers seat of the car.

The use of marijuana is against the NFL’s code of conduct. According to the Tribune-Review, Snell was clocked at 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. He pleaded guilty to speeding and paid $240 in fines and court costs.
