Former Kentucky kicker Austin MacGinnis heard his name called during the XFL Draft on Wednesday.
The Dallas Renegades selected MacGinnis in the first round of Phase 5 of the draft. Phase 5 is the first opportunity to draft a kicker and Dallas did.
The Renegades are coached by Bob Stoops, the brother of Kentucky coach Mark Stoops. Dallas also chose former Kentucky wide receiver Jeff Badet.
Former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme is the offensive coordinator for the Renegades and former Kentucky tight end Bobby Blizzard is the running backs coach.
I think its safe to say we will all be pulling for the Dallas Renegades.
Austin MacGinnis worked out with the Patriots yesterday and now we draft him in the first round of the open draft. Shows the quality of players available. This is just one of many.
