Ashton Hagans Decision to Return is Huge for Kentucky’s Backcourt

Kentucky freshman guard Ashton Hagans will have a sophomore season in Lexington. Hagans made the announcement via his Instagram account on Tuesday.

Hagans decision to return will strengthen his draft stock if he works on his offensive game and it also gives Kentucky a lot of options at guard next season.

Assuming no one transfers, Immanuel Quickley and Jemarl Baker will provide experience, along with Hagans and incoming McDonald’s All-American Tyrese Maxey.

After an impressive three week stretch early in SEC play, Hagans hit a wall over the final six weeks of the season. If he gets a consistent jump shot to go along with his tenacity on defense, Kentucky’s backcourt can be a headache for opponents next season.
