Anthony Davis did something that has never been done before

Undisputed commentator Skip Bayless was very critical of Pelicans forward Anthony Davis earlier this week, stating that the former Kentucky big man is the most overrated player in basketball.

All Davis did to shut Bayless up was go do something that had never been done before. In a 124-123 overtime victory vs. the Miami Heat, Davis finished with 45 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks, and five steals, becoming the first player to achieve those numbers since blocks and steals were first tracked in 1973-1974.

Davis has increased his production in the ten games since DeMarcus Cousins season ending Achilles injury. During that stretch, Davis is averaging 32.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 2.4 blocks per game. His numbers are even more impressive over the last four games with averages of 42.3 points, 14.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 4.0 steals, 3.0 blocks, and 2.3 made threes per game.

The Pelicans were written off after Cousins suffered his season ending injury but Davis has more than compensated, leading New Orleans to four straight wins.
