Immanuel Quickley Named One of College Basketball’s Top ‘Glue Guys’

The college basketball season is just a few weeks away and the Big Blue Nation will meet the 2019-2020 Kentucky Wildcats for the first time tonight during Big Blue Madness.

John Calipari will once again blend experience with talent, something he has to do every season the Wildcats take the floor. Experience and talent, especially in the backcourt, usually translates to success in March. The good news is Kentucky has both.

When the Wildcats take the floor this season, Calipari’s backcourt will be led by two sophomore point guards in Ashton Hagans and Immanuel Quickley. Those two will be paired with five-star freshman Tyrese Maxey.

While Hagans and Maxey have garnered most of the attention during the preseason, Andy Katz of NCAA.com tabbed Quickley one of the top ‘glue guys’ in college basketball.

“Ashton Hagans will be the lead guard,” Katz said. “Tyrese Maxey will be the star. But Quickley could be the glue on the perimeter, giving the Wildcats needed spot minutes.”

Quickley was slotted at No. 8 on Katz list. You can check out his entire list at the link below.
