The 1978 National Champion Kentucky Wildcats will be honored during Saturday’s game vs. Missouri at Rupp Arena but on Thursday, the past met the present.
The one thing you have to love about John Calipari is how he has always accepted the history of Kentucky basketball. Calipari always welcomes back former players, not just the Wildcats that played for him the last nine years.
On Thursday, the 1978 team made an appearance at practice. In the video below, you can see Cal and the current players shake hands and introduce themselves to each individual member of the 1978 Wildcats. Even though forty years separate the two teams, it had to be good for this team to see the guys that were behind hanging one of the eight NCAA banners that hang from the rafters of Rupp and line the wall at the Joe Craft Center.

One of the best things of the day was the older guys leaving advice on the dry erase board for the young Wildcats. Check it out below.
